FAQ
How much does it cost to participate?
Dancers do not pay to participate in our programs! Our goal is to make ballet more accessible. This is made possible through grants and donations. See our sponsors page here.
How do I sign up?
Audition signups for The Magical Doll Maker are available now! Click this link to fill out the form. Dancers must audition to participate in our shows. Anyone ages 8 to 18 are welcome to sign up.
The Magical Doll Maker cast rehearses on Sundays, September through November in Burien. If you want to join us, see the below important dates before making the commitment. Please let us know of any conflicts as far in advance as possible. We understand most of our dancers practice and perform with their own studios, and we want to supplement their dance opportunities, not keep them from their other commitments.
Important dates:
In person Auditions: Sunday, August 23rd
Dress rehearsal: Thursday, November 19th
Performance: Sunday, November 22nd
Mandatory rehearsals start Sunday September 13th through November 15th. Times TBA.
Is SCDT a dance studio?
Seattle Civic Dance Theatre is not a studio; we do not offer regular classes or collect tuition. There are many quality dance schools in the PNW already, and we are always looking for opportunities to partner with local schools! Our programs provide dancers with additional performance opportunities and connect dancers from different schools. We have loved seeing new friendships form between our students after meeting each other through our rehearsals!
Wait, so what is it?
SCDT is a nonprofit organization! Our community made up of alumni, local businesses, and grant programs makes it possible for us to run our programs at no cost to dancers and award scholarships to help offset the cost of dancing (pointe shoes, tuition, summer intensives, costumes, etc.)
